Shannon Lee has come together with Bruce Lee Entertainment, the Shibuya content platform, and artist Emily Yang to honor her late father’s lasting impact. They are working together to create the first-ever Bruce Lee cartoon.
The anime’s trailer was shown last week and will also be featured at the special 50th-anniversary showings of Bruce Lee’s famous movie, Enter the Dragon. These special showings will happen in over 650 theaters all over the US from August 13 to 16.

The series is created by Shannon Lee, daughter of Bruce, who has since become a producer in her own right. “Anime is an amazing medium for telling a truly creative story where Bruce Lee can be Bruce Lee,” she said of the project. “I’m so excited for the possibilities for action, fantasy, history, culture, and creativity within this medium.” Shannon chose to partner with Shibuya for House of Lee based on the company’s previous animated short White Rabbit. “I love Emily and Shibuya’s perspective,” she explained. “They are such creative, hard-working, skilled artists with an amazing brand, I just knew that they would be perfect collaborators. The organic way it all came together spoke volumes of our potential collaboration, and it’s been great!”
Yang herself described what drew her to the project. “I found myself immediately resonating with the narrative as it touches on themes of spirituality, the battle against your inner demons, and so many aspects of the AAPI experience,” she said. “It being such a personal story, Shannon wanted to really retain creative control and ownership. At Shibuya, our mission is to help creators do just that and so I knew this was something we had to be a part of.”
Shannon Lee is an executive producer on Warrior, a martial-arts crime drama based on the writings of Bruce Lee that is currently airing its third season on Max. She previously acted in films like High Voltage, Enter the Eagles and Epoch. She has also participated in two documentaries about her father, I Am Bruce Lee in 2012 and Be Water in 2020, as both an interviewee and producer.
