Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is ending with significant cliffhangers, the most notable being Yuta’s declaration to kill Yuji. Here’s a comprehensive overview of these developments.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has been an intense emotional journey, combining two popular manga arcs into a single season. Both arcs are exceptionally poignant. The first, Gojo’s Past arc (Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc in the anime), delves into Gojo’s high school experiences from twelve years ago.
The second half, the Shibuya Incident arc, brings us back to the present, where Psuedo-Geto and the curses aim to seal Satoru Gojo. Their scheme succeeds, not only sealing Gojo but also unleashing Sukuna, plunging Shibuya into chaos.
The concluding episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 leaves viewers with numerous unanswered questions. Yuta has returned to Japan, harboring a vendetta against Yuji. Additionally, it’s revealed that Shibuya serves as the prologue to Psuedo-Geto’s larger plan. For further insights into the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, delve into the details.
Tsumiki Fushiguro Fell Victim To The Nationwide Curse
In Season 1, it is revealed that Megumi’s step-sister, Tsumiki Fushiguro, falls into a cursed coma. However, Tsumiki is not the sole victim of this curse, as it affects individuals throughout Japan. The Season 2 finale of Jujutsu Kaisen unveils Psuedo-Geto’s revelation that he has marked two categories of non-sorcerers.
These marked individuals are either those who were exposed to cursed objects, akin to Yuji, or those possessing cursed techniques, yet their minds were intended to function as non-sorcerers like Junpei. The former group gains the strength of vessels, while the latter’s brains are adapted for sorcery. Through the utilization of remote Idle Transfiguration, Psuedo-Geto breaks the seal on these marked individuals.
This intricate scheme is a part of his grand plan to initiate the Culling Game. Psuedo-Geto envisions the next phase of humanity in optimizing cursed energy. His goal is to explore the complete range of human potential, extending beyond the limitations of being either sorcerers or curses.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Ending Explained: Does Yuta want to kill Yuji?
The much-anticipated anime debut of Yuta Okkotsu has finally arrived, but it takes an unexpected turn for fans. Following the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, Gojo dispatches Yuta to Africa for training under Miguel. Shortly before midnight, Pseudo-Geto initiates the Culling Game, but Yuta’s arrival occurs around 1:25 am.
Yuta’s initial actions involve rescuing a young girl from a curse and subsequently meeting with the high-ranking members of the Jujutsu society. Faced with skepticism from the elders, Yuta opts to enter a Binding Vow with them, pledging to eliminate Yuji. Yuta harbors resentment over the fact that his friend Toge Inumaki lost an arm due to Sukuna’s rampage.
Moreover, in accordance with Jujutsu regulations, Geto’s survival is confirmed, resulting in a renewed death sentence for him. Gojo, labeled a traitor, is exiled from the Jujutsu world, and tampering with his seal is considered a grave offense.
Masamichi Yaga is held responsible for inciting Geto and Gojo to instigate the Shibuya Incident and is sentenced to death. Yuji, whose death penalty was previously revoked thanks to Gojo, once again faces execution, and Yuta is designated as his executioner.
What Are Yuta’s Real Plans Regarding Yuji Itadori?
As per the manga storyline, Yuta is acting in accordance with Gojo’s instructions. In Season 1, Gojo briefly left the country, entrusting Yuji’s care to Nanami in his absence. Considering that Yuji is officially deemed deceased, Nanami emerges as the most capable and trustworthy individual in Gojo’s estimation. In Africa, Gojo encounters Yuta and tasks him with looking after Yuji in case of any unforeseen events.
Initially perceiving it as a jest due to Gojo’s status as the most potent sorcerer of the contemporary era, Yuta eventually realizes the gravity of the situation when Gojo is sealed. Consequently, Yuta returns from Africa. By openly expressing his resentment and assuming the role of Yuji’s executioner, Yuta aims to safeguard Yuji from potential threats. Faced with skepticism from the elders, the use of a Binding Vow becomes a strategic move to solidify Yuta’s plans.
Despite Yuta’s exceptional talent, he could easily identify a loophole in the Binding Vow. In the manga’s Yuji’s Extermination arc, Yuta engages in combat with Yuji. Although Yuji displays resilience, he proves to be no match for a special-grade sorcerer like Yuta. Yuta fulfills the requirements of the Binding Vow by momentarily killing Yuji, only to promptly revive him using the Reverse Cursed Technique a second after his heartbeat stops.
