On Thursday, July 13, at 11:56 pm JST, the second episode of season 2 of “Jujutsu Kaisen” was broadcasted on the MBS/TBS network in Japan. Approximately two hours later, the episode was simulcasted worldwide. Continuing from the first episode, this installment prominently introduced four characters: Toji Fushiguro, Shiu Kong, Misato Kuroi, and Riko Amanai.
In the preceding episode, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, both second-year students at Jujutsu High, were assigned the mission to protect Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel. Riko is being pursued by soldiers from Organization Q and the Time Vessel Association, the latter of which attempted to recruit Toji Fushiguro.

Episode 2 of season 2 of “Jujutsu Kaisen,” titled “Hidden Inventory Part 2,” opens with Geto successfully defeating the Q soldier he was engaged in combat with. As the soldier boasts about their strongest warrior, Bayer, a text message from Gojo reveals that he has already defeated Bayer.
Riko Amanai, who was unconscious, regains consciousness and immediately confronts both sorcerers, provoking them. At that moment, Misato Kuroi, Riko’s caretaker, arrives on the scene. Riko appears to possess some grand but misguided beliefs about her fusion with Master Tengen, which leads to the following quote:
“I am Master Tengen, and Master Tengen is me.”

In another location, Shiu Kong encounters Toji Fushiguro at a racing arena and refers to him as the “Sorcerer Killer.” Toji loses a bet but assures Shiu Kong that he will fulfill the task at hand. Kong inquires about Megumi, but Toji cannot recall who he is. Later on, Toji publicly announces a 48-hour bounty on Riko’s life on the Jujutsu dark web. He utilizes the entire 30 million Yen reward he received from the Time Vessel Association for this purpose.
Toji explains to Kong that this bounty will attract numerous mediocre bounty hunters who will attack Riko, thereby exhausting Satoru Gojo and his allies. However, since Gojo is on their side, Riko will remain unharmed as Gojo is nearly invincible. When Shiu Kong questions whether Toji is capable of killing Gojo, the Sorcerer-Killer appears uncertain.

In episode 2 of “Jujutsu Kaisen” season 2, the focus shifts to Riko’s school. Despite her circumstances, Riko insists on attending school, and Master Tengen wishes for her to experience a normal life as much as possible. Geto explains to Gojo the importance of allowing Riko to bid a proper farewell, but their conversation is interrupted by Kuroi, who reveals that Riko is an orphan. Geto, who had placed surveillance spirits around the school, becomes aware of the presence of enemies.
As they separate, Geto encounters an old user of Shikigami, whom he swiftly defeats using both his powers and intelligence. Meanwhile, Kuroi defeats an adversary with a broom while Geto discovers information about the bounty on Riko. In the meantime, Gojo locates Riko and impresses her classmates before taking her away. Gojo exposes the abilities of his adversary, who possesses the power to create multiple clones that encircle them. Final thoughts
In episode 2 of “Jujutsu Kaisen” season 2, certain aspects are highlighted at the beginning of the episode. One of these moments is a comical scene where Shoko struggles to explain her technique, which remains in the memories of Gojo and Geto as a small gag. Apart from these additions, the episode remains faithful to the plot and chronology, although it introduces some changes in the settings.
Additionally, the episode incorporates a scene from an extra illustration by mangaka Gege Akutami, featuring Toji knocking over and stepping on someone’s ramen. For viewers who only follow the anime, an intriguing element arises with the mention of Megumi, the only Fushiguro character actively seen in season 1.
Moreover, episode 2 delves into the vulnerabilities of Gojo and showcases the cunning nature of Geto. Their friendship is explored, solidifying the idea that Geto serves as Gojo’s moral and empathetic guide. This dynamic sets the stage for an intriguing progression in their relationship throughout the upcoming episodes.
