Yoruichi Shihoin plays a crucial role in the Bleach Thousand Year Blood War (TYBW) Part 2 arc, but as of now, she has not been seen in the anime adaptation. The TYBW arc was given the green light for the anime and premiered on October 11, 2022, with the second cour releasing on July 8, 2023.
Numerous Bleach fans are eager to see Yoruichi in action as she is an essential character in the series, and her captivating presence has made her a fan favorite. The anticipation for her return in the Thousand Year Blood War arc is high among fans.
The good news is that Yoruichi Shihoin will indeed make a spectacular appearance in Bleach TYBW part 2. However, her return might occur in the later episodes of this season, particularly if Studio Pierrot strictly adheres to the original manga content. Bleach TYBW Part 2 Yoruichi Shihoin Will Join The Party Soon In This Season
The indication of Yoruichi’s forthcoming appearance in Bleach TYBW part 2 becomes evident through the Opening Theme “STARS” by w.o.d. The Opening Theme features Yoruichi Shihoin alongside Kisuke Urahara under a bridge, strongly suggesting her involvement in the second invasion.
Bleach opening themes typically showcase characters that play a significant role in the season, making it highly unlikely for Yoruichi to be featured if she won’t be part of the upcoming events. Therefore, her presence in the Opening Theme serves as a clear hint that she will join the troops in the second invasion.
Bleach TYBW part 2 centers on the second invasion of the Quincy in Soul Society, led by Yhwach. Although Yoruichi didn’t appear in the first season, she was occupied with a crucial task.
Up to the current point, the first three episodes of Bleach TYBW part 2 have only covered 12 chapters (543-554) of the arc. Given that Yoruichi makes her appearance in chapter 589 of the arc, it is likely that it will take around six or seven more episodes before she finally appears in the anime.
The Reason Why Yoruichi Will Not Appear In Bleach TYBW Part 2 Early On
Chapter 589 marks Yoruichi’s grand entrance in the Bleach TYBW arc. In this chapter, Ichigo Kurosaki and his companions prepare to return to the Soul King’s Palace to pursue Yhwach, utilizing a replica of Kukaku’s cannon ingeniously crafted by Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
During this moment, Yoruichi appears and, in her characteristic manner, playfully slaps Ichigo for staring too much at Orihime’s new attire. Urahara warmly welcomes her and inquires about the task she had been engaged in. Yoruichi reveals a set of containers hidden beneath her cloak, explaining that Kisuke had requested her to investigate the distortion created by the Quincy, which affected the boundary between the Soul Society and the Human World.
Yoruichi’s investigation unveils that a significant surge of energy was released during both the appearance and disappearance of the distortion. Urahara deduces that this energy is potent enough to bridge the gap between the two worlds. After confirming this, Urahara instructs Shinji Hirako to inform Hiyori and the other Vizards to seal the distortion and gather the released energy.
Working in collaboration with the Vizards, Yoruichi Shihoin takes charge of collecting the motion energy from the distortion in containers, and transporting it to the Seireitei. The colossal amount of motion energy gathered would be essential in launching the replica of Kukaku’s cannon toward the Royal Palace.
Urahara had anticipated that someone, namely Mayuri Kurotsuchi, had already constructed the replica of Kukaku’s Cannon. Thus, Yoruichi Shihoin’s role in the TYBW arc was pivotal. While others fought to save the Soul Society, she worked diligently with the Vizards to seal the distortion and simultaneously gather the released energy.
