Unique Specializations

Prepare to unleash your inner rogue in Diablo 4! With a plethora of weapons at your disposal, you can switch up your combat style in the blink of an eye. Unlike the other classes, rogues come with a unique feature that grants access to not one, not two, but three separate specializations. But wait, there’s more! You can also imbue your abilities, turning weaknesses into strengths and completely revamping your fighting style. Ready to delve deeper into the world of Diablo 4? Check out the tutorial below to discover all the incredible imbues available to rogues, as well as the various specializations at your fingertips.

What are Rouges in Diablo 4?

Rogues in Diablo 4 are true masters of versatility, with a vast array of skills and tricks up their sleeves. Their lightning-fast reflexes and agility make them a force to be reckoned with, whether they prefer to stay up close and personal with their enemies, or snipe them from a safe distance with their trusty bows or crossbows. Unlike other classes, Rogues have the freedom to switch between ranged and melee combat on the fly, using either daggers or swords to dispatch their foes with deadly precision.

What’s more, Rogues have access to a unique Arsenal system that allows them to switch between weapon categories at will, without locking out any ability choices. This means that players can choose the perfect weapon for any situation without sacrificing any of their hard-earned skills or abilities. And speaking of skills, the stats of a Rogue’s abilities are determined by the stats of their weapons, so players will need to choose their gear carefully to maximize their damage output.

But the Rogue’s versatility doesn’t end there. They also have a wide range of mobility skills at their disposal, allowing them to quickly close the gap with their enemies, reposition themselves for a surprise attack, or make a swift retreat when things get too hot to handle. All in all, the Rogue is a class that rewards players who are quick on their feet and able to adapt to any situation, making them a fearsome opponent both in single combat and in group play.

The Imbue System

Get ready to take your Rogue gameplay to the next level! The Imbue system in Diablo 4 allows you to enhance your skills with secondary effects and change the damage type to Cold, Poison, or Shadow based on the situation. For example, Rogues have the unique ability to add cursed oils to their weapons, inflicting Shadow damage on their enemies. If you can keep up the momentum, cursed enemies that are defeated will explode, dealing significant damage to adjacent targets and clearing your screen of foes. And that’s not all! Like the Sorceress, Rogues can also use Cold attacks to apply Chill effects that eventually lead to a complete Freeze. With these powerful enhancements at your disposal, you’ll be a force to be reckoned with in battle.

Levels 2-3, 2 Skill Points

In order to access the other parts, we must first invest two points in Basic Skills. Forceful Arrow is our option because it applies Vulnerable and helps out with additional damage when out of Energy with the Primary Forceful Arrow upgrade we get later.

  1. Level 2: Forceful Arrow
  2. Level 3: Enhanced Forceful Arrow

Levels 4-7, 4 Skill Points

Select your playstyle: Flurry for combat, Barrage for ranged. Both abilities work somewhat similarly in that they deal numerous hits to enemies per use, which later on allows for fantastic synergy with Imbuements. Although they are easy to use, proper positioning will increase your damage. Position yourself to strike as many targets as you can with each attack.

  1. Level 4: Barrage OR Flurry
  2. Level 5: Enhanced Barrage OR Flurry
  3. Level 6: Improved Barrage OR Flurry
  4. Level 7: Primary Forceful Arrow

Levels 8-17, 10 Skill Points

Learn how to move quickly across the battlefield with Dash, one of the Rogue’s distinctive abilities, which provides two charges for you to engage, flee, or change your location. You can also use Shadow Step, a mobility tool that helps you move faster until you acquire Ultimate Skills, and teleport across mountains in outdoor areas. At level 13, Dark Shroud is unlocked, providing substantial protection and access to Subterfuge Skills. At level 15, the Rogue Specialization is accessible, allowing you to earn Combo Points by completing a Priority Quest quickly. Forceful Arrow is another frequently used skill that boosts your Core Skill’s damage.

  1. Level 8: Dash
  2. Level 9: Shadow Step
  3. Levels 10-12: Barrage OR Flurry
  4. Level 13: Dark Shroud
  5. Level 14: Enhanced Dark Shroud
  6. Level 15: Subverting Dark Shroud
  7. Level 16: Barrage OR Flurry
  8. Level 17: Exploit

Levels 18-23, 6 Skill Points

Shadow Imbuement increases the effectiveness of Core Skills (Barrage or Flurry) by changing the sort of damage they deal and adding new effects. You can use it to apply Vulnerable, use Consuming Shadows to restore Energy, and destroy groups of small enemies. All of these actions work in fantastic harmony with our primary ability. Utilize it as frequently as you can while avoiding wasting charges on Shadow Step or Dash. At level 20, we also change the Rogue Specialization to Inner Sight, which periodically replenishes all Energy and permits limitless skill repetition for a while.

  1. Level 18: Shadow Imbuement
  2. Level 19: Enhanced Shadow Imbuement
  3. Level 20: Blended Shadow Imbuement
  4. Level 20: Switch Combo Points to Inner Sight
  5. Level 21: Shadow Crash
  6. Levels 22-23: Consuming Shadows

Levels 24-25, 2 Skill Points + Renown

Shadow Clone is available once we reach level 25, when we also access Ultimate Skills. While the higher damage output, particularly against Bosses, is great to have, Shadow Step is also great to have for mobility. Whenever you fight a large group of Elites or other noteworthy targets, feel free to use the Shadow Clone.

  1. Levels 24-25: Exploit
  2. Level 25: Remove Shadow Step, add Shadow Clone
  3. Renown 1-3: Innervation

Rogue Imbuement Skills

To get the most out of your Rogue in Diablo 4, it’s important to choose the Imbuement skill that complements your build. However, only a few skills can actually be imbued, so it’s worth taking a look at our guide to Rogue skills before making your choice. Without the right abilities, the Imbuement skill won’t be of much use to you.
