The fearsome Black Hinox mini-boss lurks in multiple locations throughout the vast kingdom of Hyrule in the thrilling game Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. One such encounter took place within the eerie confines of the North Akkala Beach Cave, situated in the northeast corner of the expansive map. This particular Black Hinox, known for its immense strength and formidable size, awaited brave adventurers who dared to venture into its domain.
Entering the North Akkala Beach Cave, players would be greeted by a foreboding atmosphere, with dimly lit passages and an aura of danger. As they cautiously made their way through the cave’s winding tunnels, the tension grew, anticipating the encounter with the powerful Black Hinox.

How to Defeat Black Hinox Miniboss in Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom
First, ensure you have the necessary items for the battle: arrows and a strong weapon. We used a powerful Lynel bow and a Stone Talus hammer, and it took less than a minute to defeat the Hinox.
When you’re ready, approach the Hinox from behind while crouching and moving slowly to remain undetected.
Equip your strongest weapon and begin attacking the enemy. Although it’s not an official Sneakstrike, we managed to remove a third of its health before it even stood up.
Once the Hinox is standing, switch to your bow, move backward, and take aim. It moves slowly and has a limited turning range. When you see its iris turn blue, unleash your arrow to deal significant damage. You can also use a bomb flower for added effect, but a regular arrow works fine.
This will cause the Hinox to cover its eye and stagger backward, stunned, giving you a brief window of around five seconds to attack without resistance. Focus on attacking its feet until it is defeated. With a decent melee weapon, you won’t need more than one arrow to bring down this formidable creature.

There are many places to find Hinoxes in the Surface and Depths of Tears of the Kingdom. We have discovered 30 Hinox locations on the Surface level, and we have marked them on the map for reference.
In the Depths, we have found a total of 19 Hinox locations. If you want to find more Hinoxes in the Depths, a helpful tip is to look for their counterparts on the Surface. While not every Surface Hinox has a counterpart in the Depths, many of them do. You can refer to the map below to see where these monsters can be found in the Depths.
