In Hogwarts Legacy, the Sorting Hat is really important because it decides which of the famous houses you will be in: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. Choosing a house in the game is more important than what it looks like on the outside. It greatly impacts your experience in the game because each house has unique effects that come with it. To learn more and make a knowledgeable decision about the differences between the Hogwarts houses, you can read our detailed guidebook.
Choosing Hogwarts Legacy Houses
The Sorting Hat is set to feature in Hogwarts Legacy, although the final decision of which house you belong to rests in your hands. So, when the chance presents itself, opt for the residence that resonates with you the most. Even after the Sorting Hat suggests a house, you’re not locked in, and you can reconsider. However, if you’re eager to fully engage, responding to its inquiries with the traits of a specific house can assist the hat in suggesting the one you might be seeking.
- Gryffindor
- Ravenclaw
- Hufflepuff
- Slytherin
How Does House Sorting Works?
Registering an account with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter fan club enables you to participate in the Sorting Hat quiz and enjoy a personalized journey. The subsequent action involves linking your Harry Potter Fan Club account with your WB Games account, allowing for the transfer of your wand selection and House affiliation. Remember to also establish a connection between your WB Games account and the account associated with your gaming console.
Hogwarts Legacy Houses Differences
While each of the four houses at Hogwarts possesses its distinct characteristics, it’s important to bear in mind that, aside from the main quest, students from all houses will experience fairly similar school years. Some of the noteworthy differences include the following:
- Some of your stuff, such as the House Colors, will be customized to your selected home.
- Common Room access is reserved only for you (and a Floo Flame fast travel point is not accessible to other houses)
- More getting to know the other fifth-years in your home and making new friends
- There may be a few supplementary lines of conversation that may include your home.
No particular privileges, unique friendships, or concealed advantages appear to be associated with a specific house. Irrespective of your house, you will have the opportunity to engage, collaborate on quests, and establish connections with fifth-year students from all the houses. Interestingly, certain houses will even offer their distinct questlines that don’t require you to belong to the same house as them.
Gryffindor
Gryffindor students are renowned for their bravery in the face of danger, unwavering fearlessness, and strong-hearted chivalry. They are the ones most likely to partake in heroic deeds, making them a prudent choice for wizards and witches committed to upholding the right path, regardless of the sacrifices.
At Hogwarts, students often proudly display the red and gold variations of the house crest and lion mascot, symbolizing their allegiance to the house founded by Godric Gryffindor. The Gryffindor Common Room, situated in the South Wing’s Gryffindor Tower and guarded by a portrait of a robust lady, serves as a space for students.
While your story remains consistent if you join Gryffindor, you might enjoy more interactions with intriguing characters like Garreth Weasley (nephew of Professor Weasley), Nellie Oggspire, and Cressida Blume. Additionally, Natasi Onai, who accompanies you on various adventures, has the potential to become a close companion.
Slytherin
Students of Slytherin are sometimes depicted in a more questionable light since they are most typically those who seek to achieve their goals with little regard for morals or the consequences to others.
Founded by Salazar Slytherin, Slytherin students may be recognized by their clothing and scarves, which may have the house crest of a snake and the colors green and silver. Slytherin students also have access to the common room for their house, which is situated under the enormous lake and illuminated by its watery radiance via the windows from which they may see the fish.
Not much will change if you decide to join Slytherin (you don’t have to be sorted here to dabble in the Dark Arts). On the other hand, your fifth-year Slytherin classmates, such as Ominis Gaunt, Imelda Reyes, and Sebastian Sallow, may be more approachable and open to conversation. In particular, companion missions with Sebastian will let you participate in his pivotal tale.
Other well-known Harry Potter characters include the Bloody Baron, Merlin, Tom Riddle, and Severus Snape who were all members of Slytherin Hogwarts Legacy Houses (most of which attended Hogwarts long after the events of the game).
Ravenclaw
Due to their intelligence, sense of humor, and creative problem-solving abilities, Ravenclaw students are known for being very intelligent. In order to become wizarding masters, Ravenclaw members take pride in their tenacious study of the magical arts rather than on their own physical strength.
This house was established by Rowena Ravenclaw and is distinguished by an eagle and heraldic colors of blue and bronze. All of which are probably to be seen on its members’ clothing. On one of the branching towers off the Grand Staircase, Ravenclaw has its own common area. But in order to enter this chamber, pupils must solve riddles rather than use a password. This is a roomy space with a vaulted ceiling and large windows looking down over the gardens below.
There won’t be any major plot shifts if you’re sorted into Ravenclaw Hogwarts Legacy Houses, but you may have more opportunities to interact with and form alliances with other Ravenclaw fifth-years such as Duncan Everett Clopton, Samantha Dare, and Amit Thakkar.
The Gray Lady, Uric the Oddball, Filius Flitwick, Sybill Trelawney, and Luna Lovegood are a few more well-known students from Ravenclaw (most of which are not alive during the events of Hogwarts Legacy).
Hufflepuff
Hufflepuff Hogwarts Legacy House is renowned for being the most hospitable to newcomers who value hard work, and its members are noted for their pleasant dispositions and the values of patience, loyalty, and fair play. They may not be as driven or competitive as other houses, but they have repeatedly proven that they are still capable of great things.
Helga Hufflepuff established Hufflepuff. The house colors of black and yellow are worn by its members on their clothes. In the Great Hall, the house elves occupy a communal room next to the kitchens. Easily accessed through a separate Grand Staircase stairwell that descends to the basement and is teeming with a variety of lovely flora and animals.
There won’t be any major plot twists for Hufflepuff pupils. But you may have more opportunities to bond with other fifth-years like Adelaide Oakes, Authur Plummly, and Lenora Everleigh. Because Poppy Sweeting has an essential companion questline that requires your attention. You’ll have more time to devote to her as well.
The Fat Friar, Newton Scamander, and Cedric Diggory are just a few more famous people of Hufflepuff ancestry.
