The creators of Football Manager 23, Sports Interactive, have said that Mason Greenwood, who used to play for Manchester United and got into trouble, will be in the game again now that he is playing sports again.
Greenwood, who was 21 years old when this was written, got arrested on January 30, 2022. This happened because some things he posted on social media were discovered and it led to him being taken to court for charges of attempted rape, coercive control, and assault. He claimed to be innocent and denied all of these accusations.
He was quickly taken out of Football Manager in February 2022, and since then, he has been under investigation by the police and Manchester United. They are trying to bring a fair resolution to the situation.
The legal case against Greenwood was stopped in February 2023 because the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said there was no chance of convicting him anymore. This happened because the important witnesses decided not to help anymore.
Greenwood Is Back In The Football Manager 23
Since that time, Greenwood has had a baby with his girlfriend and has been temporarily sent to play for the Spanish team Getafe in La Liga. After that, he is going to be included again in the football management simulator.
Sports Interactive, the company that makes Football Manager, said that if a player or official of the game is suspended from football for an unknown amount of time, they will be taken out of Football Manager as soon as possible. When a player or official’s suspensions or playing restrictions are lifted, they will be allowed to play again in the game at the next scheduled update.
Currently, we don’t know when the next Football Manager 23 update will happen. Sports Interactive doesn’t seem to have a consistent schedule for updating the game.
FM23 was released in November of 2022. So, if FM24 releases in November this year, we can expect to see the footballer in that game too.
Greenwood is going to play his first game for Getafe after the international break. Their next game will be at home against Osasuna on Sunday, September 17.
