In the Payday universe, the supremacy of cash prevails. However, in the contemporary era, currency exists in digital form. Hence, Shade has tasked the gang with infiltrating Scry Digital, a tech company, to pilfer servers from its data center.
If you possess the DLC, access to the Syntax Error mission can be found under the “The Bad Apple” button on the Payday 3 heist selection menu. For those without the DLC, participation is still possible by joining a party hosted by a player who owns it.

How to Stealth Syntax Error in Payday 3
Start by ensuring you equip the recommended stealth loadout for Payday 3, as the associated skills will prove invaluable in facilitating your covert maneuvers within the game.
The Syntax Error heist features a varying number of guards, ranging from 6 to 7, depending on your chosen difficulty level. Here are the potential guard locations we’ve identified:
- One guard by the metal detector
- One guard in the camera room
- One guard patrolling the upstairs hallway
- 3-4 guards patrolling the downstairs server room, one of these guards will be a Lead Guard on Overkill difficulty
It’s advisable to preserve your radios for use downstairs, a strategy we will elaborate on shortly.
As you initiate the Syntax Error heist, enter the main lobby and take note of the guard positioned in front of the metal detector. Beyond him, there’s a door secured with a keypad that you’ll need to unlock.
Syntax Error Keypad Code
The combination for the keypad is situated on the upper floor, accessible through a room on the right side of the lobby. Create a distraction for the guard near the metal detector by interacting with the electronic billboard within the lobby. Proceed to pick the lock and enter the room.
Within this room, access the ventilation system and crawl through to the adjacent area. Ascend the stairs to reach a new private section on the upper floor, exercising caution to evade both cameras and the patrolling guard. Navigate to the office positioned at the far end of the corridor.
Discover the code for the keypad by either hacking the PC or cracking the safe. Keep in mind that this code undergoes randomization with each playthrough, ensuring it differs from ours.
Upon obtaining the keypad code, exit the office and enter the room located in the corner of the upper hallway. On lower difficulty settings, you’ll encounter a switch here that disables the metal detector. Proceed to the keypad door either by returning downstairs and re-entering the lobby or by opening a vent in the same room and following it down to the keypad door area.
Syntax Error Red Keycard
Upon passing through the keypad-locked door, you’ll find yourself in the underground data center. As this entire area is designated as a Secure Area, it’s advisable to don your mask. The presence of 3-4 patrolling guards is contingent on your chosen difficulty level. Keep in mind that excessive eliminations may trigger additional guards to emerge from the elevators, so discretion in combat is recommended.
Your initial task is to locate a Red Keycard, housed within a red box positioned in one of three potential locations:
- By the bottom of the stairs leading up to the cooling center
- At the data verification center
- By the elevator leading up to the AI control room
Syntax Error Correct Server
Upon successfully acquiring all 3 servers, a larger and weightier server, the primary loot objective, becomes available for retrieval. To secure this crucial loot, you need to transport it to the van located upstairs. Navigate through the side corridor, proceed back to the Cooling Center, and exit through the door, ascending the stairs to return to the main lobby of the building.
To maintain a low profile, avoid raising any alarms at this point. Once you reach the metal detector area again, immediately turn left and access the air vent. Utilize the vent system to ascend back to the top floor.
Upon exiting the vent, turn left, and proceed to the staircase. Exercise caution to evade detection by cameras and the patrolling guard in this area. Descend the stairs, and you’ll encounter a door that leads to the van’s location. Safeguard the bag in the van, and when you’re prepared to conclude the heist, make your exit.
