Who is Xur in Destiny 2?
Xur, Agent of The Nine, is a mysterious character who appears on occasion in Destiny to offer rare weapons and armour to Guardians. He works for a company known as The Nine. Every weekend in Destiny, from Friday am through Sunday morning, you can locate Xur in various locations in the Tower and Vestian Outpost. From Friday am until the next Weekly Reset on Tuesday, he can be found at The Tower, European Dead Zone, and Nessus in Destiny 2. In Destiny 2, instead of Strange Coins, you use Legendary Shards to purchase Exotic weapons and armour from him. He now also works with Exotic Cyphers.
Fun Facts about Xur in Destiny 2
Xur, Destiny’s special trader, sold an item named Flight of Shadows for Halloween in 2014 and 2015. Xur permitted players to exchange Spinmetal and Spirit Bloom for Strange Coins during his second week in the Tower. However, Bungie swiftly deleted this function since some players were abusing it to obtain an excessive number of Strange Coins. Following the Destiny Update 1.1, Xur began selling upgrades that might increase the power of loaded exotic weapons and armour. However, in Update 220.127.116.11, this upgrading option was deleted because players could ascend their weapons and armour instead.
Xur Location & Where to Find Him
To find Xur in Destiny 2, head to the EDZ’s Winding Cove location first. Look for a cave opening on the far northern border of the island and climb up the rock to find a crashed Fallen skiff. That’s where Xur and several of his opponents hang around. Every weekend, beginning Friday at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET, Xur arrives in the game. However, his specific position is unknown and might be anywhere, including the Tower Hangar, Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, or Winding Cove. You still have time to visit him until Tuesday’s weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, when he will leave the game until the following weekend. Remember that Xur’s inventory changes every week.
What Does Xur Offer? Location of Xur Shop
Xur grants one Exotic weapon and three pieces of Exotic armour each week, one for each character class. The inventory is random, as are the stat rolls you may expect on each of his armour offers, so it’s worth visiting him if you’re seeking to add to your collection or if you’re hoping for better versions of Exotics you already have. Xur also brings an Exotic Engram, which is guaranteed to drop something you don’t already have if you have Exotics missing from your collection on that particular character–but this excludes Exotics earned through activities, such as the new Exotic armours added each season, which can only be claimed from Legendary or Master Lost Sectors.
