Geo Genshin Impact: Element Guide, Strengths & Reactions

Geo Genshin Impact. In the world of Genshin Impact, elements play a central role in both combat and exploration. Elements are mystical forces that represent different aspects of nature and grant special abilities to characters.

There are seven elements in Genshin Impact: Pyro (fire), Hydro (water), Anemo (wind), Electro (electricity), Dendro (nature), Cryo (ice), and Geo (earth). Each element has its own unique characteristics and elemental reactions when combined with other elements. Mastering the use of elements is crucial for overcoming challenges, solving puzzles, and unleashing powerful attacks in the vast and immersive world of Genshin Impact.

Geo in Genshin Impact is one of such element. Today, we’ll be discussing Geo Element in detail.

What is Geo in Genshin Impact?

Geo is one of the seven elemental powers in the enchanting world of Genshin Impact. Representing the element of earth, Geo grants its wielders the ability to manipulate and harness the power of stone and minerals. Characters infused with Geo possess remarkable defensive capabilities, as well as the ability to shape the terrain and create protective barriers.

In the lore of Genshin Impact, the Archon associated with the Earth element is Morax, also known as the God of Contracts. Morax reigns over the region of Liyue, a prosperous land rich in minerals and adorned with magnificent stone structures. As the divine ruler of Geo, Morax ensures the prosperity and harmony of Liyue, overseeing its intricate networks of commerce and trade.

Geo Effect on Characters in Genshin Impact

When applied to characters in Genshin Impact, Earth instantly dissipates, except for the unique case of Zhongli’s Elemental Burst effect on enemies. However, when a character already has a non-Anemo and non-Geo element applied to them, Geo will trigger the Crystallize effect.

This effect generates an elemental shard that acts as a protective barrier, shielding players from harm and granting them additional resistance against the initial element that was applied.

Geo Strengths & Weaknesses in Genshin Impact

When it comes to combat in Genshin Impact, Geo has its own set of strengths, weaknesses, and immunities. Geo is particularly effective against enemies with Geo Elemental Armor, such as Geochanter Bracers or Stonehide Lawachurls, as it can deal significant damage to them.

Additionally, Geo is known for its ability to create rock shields, providing valuable defensive capabilities. However, Geo performs poorly against non-Geo Elemental Armor and Elemental Shields, resulting in relatively low damage output. In such cases, it is advisable to utilize other elemental abilities that are better suited for breaking through these defenses and dealing optimal damage.

Geo Reactions

In Genshin Impact, elements other than Anemo, Geo, and Dendro can trigger a single Elemental Reaction called Crystallize in Earth. This reaction proves useful in mitigating damage to your characters, especially when a dedicated healer is not present in the party.

When Geo combines with elements like Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, or Electro, it creates the Crystallize effect. This reaction results in the formation of a protective shield that provides bonus resistance against the initial element when picked up.

List of Geo Characters in Genshin Impact

Here is a list of current Geo characters in Genshin Impact:

  • Noelle: 4★ Rarity, wields a Claymore.
  • Ningguang: 4★ Rarity, wields a Catalyst.

  • Yun Jin: 4★ Rarity, wields a Polearm.

These characters offer a variety of playstyles and abilities within the Geo element, allowing players to explore the strengths and strategies of each character in their Genshin Impact adventures.

Geo Status

The Geo status in Genshin Impact differs from other elements. Normally, the Geo status cannot be applied through elemental attacks.

However, certain enemies like Geo Hypostasis, Stonehide Lawachurls, and Large Geo Slimes have a permanent Geo status while their shields are active, but it cannot trigger Crystallize by reacting with other elements.

There is an exception to this rule with Zhongli’s Elemental Burst, Planet Befall. During the duration of Zhongli’s Petrification, his Elemental Burst applies a persistent Geo status effect.

The Geo status in Genshin Impact possesses specific properties: it maintains a Geo gauge of 0.04 units, does not undergo decay over time, and gets completely removed when the petrified state ends. It does not react with other elements. Zhongli’s unique ability allows him to harness the power of Geo in a distinct and impactful way.

To Wrap it all Up

In Genshin Impact, elements are crucial for combat and exploration, and one of these elements is Geo. Representing the power of earth, Geo allows characters to manipulate stone and minerals, offering defensive capabilities and the ability to shape terrain. Geo instantly disappears when applied to characters, except for Zhongli’s Elemental Burst effect.

However, if a character already has a non-Anemo and non-Geo element applied, Geo triggers the Crystallize effect, creating a protective barrier. Geo excels against Geo Elemental Armor but performs poorly against non-Geo Elemental Armor and Elemental Shields. The sole Elemental Reaction for Geo is Crystallize, providing shields with bonus resistance.

Several Geo characters, like Albedo, Itto, and Zhongli, offer diverse playstyles. Zhongli’s Elemental Burst applies a persistent Geo status during Petrification, unaffected by other elements.
