Ijo-o Shrine Zelda: TOTK | Location & Walkthrough

Ijo-o Shrine Zelda. The Legend of Zelda series is known for its captivating gameplay and intricate puzzles, and one of the most fascinating aspects of the games are the Shrines. Shrines are mini-dungeons scattered throughout the vast open worlds of Zelda games, offering a variety of challenges and rewards for players to discover. These compact yet engaging experiences provide players with a chance to test their skills, solve puzzles, and earn valuable treasures.

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, for example, players encounter numerous Shrines, each with its unique theme and set of puzzles. One such Shrine is the “Ridgeland Tower Shrine,” situated atop a towering structure in the Ridgeland region. To reach this Shrine, players must solve a series of complex puzzles that involve manipulating the orientation of the Shrine itself, testing their spatial awareness and problem-solving abilities.

Another memorable Shrine is the “Daka Tuss Shrine,” found in the Gerudo Desert. This Shrine is enveloped in a sandstorm, obscuring the path and creating a challenging environment. Players must navigate through shifting sand dunes, utilize the power of the wind, and cleverly employ their abilities to uncover the hidden path to the Shrine’s core.

Meanwhile, in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s expansion, “The Master Trials,” the “Trial of the Sword” provides a unique Shrine-like experience. In this challenge, players start with no weapons or equipment and must battle through increasingly difficult waves of enemies, surviving each round to progress further.

One such shrine is the Ijo-o Shrine in Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.

Ijo-o Shrine (More Than Defense) is one of the intriguing Shrines players can discover in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Nestled within the Hebra Sky Region, this Shrine offers a unique challenge that goes beyond the realm of defense.

Upon entering Ijo-o Shrine, players are greeted by a serene and mystical atmosphere. The interior of the Shrine is adorned with icy motifs and a sense of tranquility, contrasting with the frigid surroundings of the Hebra Sky Region. Walkthrough of The Ijo-o Shrine in Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom

In the first room of the shrine, there is an ice block and a Construct enemy. The clue here is the Construct’s shield and the shrine description, “Ijo-o Shrine (More Than Defense).” To proceed, defeat the Construct by quickly attacking it with your best weapon. Then, you have two options: either take the shield that emits flames from the defeated Construct, or fuse your own preferred shield with the Flame Emitter located in the corner.

To equip the flame shield, make sure you are not holding any weapon. Also do not have a one-handed weapon equipped, and press the RT button. This will allow you to melt the first ice block and access the second room. Alternatively, you can use the fire power of any weapon fused with Ruby, or create a fire by dropping a pile of wood and flint, and striking it with a sword. Another option is to light a wooden weapon on fire and stand next to the ice block until it melts.

Once the ice block is melted, proceed through the gate it was blocking, and you will encounter another ice block and another Construct in the next area.

Melt the second ice block using the same method as the first to reveal a chest with 5 Arrows.

Use your flame shield or dodge and strike the next Construct. Take its shield with a stone slab attached or make your own. Remove the flame emitter by selecting the shield in the pause menu and destroying the attached emitter. Take the shield with the stone slab to the wall of fire, block the flames, and edge sideways to the next area.

In the next room, defeat the Construct by parrying or dodging its attacks. Use arrows or direct strikes to take it down. You can also utilize rockets if desired. Fuse the rocket to your shield or one of the available shields in the room.

Move to the ledge with the exit above. Equip the rocket shield to launch to the ceiling and paraglide to the exit.
