Assassin’s Creed Red Reportedly Features Two Main Protagonists

A shinobi and a samurai are said to play pivotal roles in Assassin’s Creed Red. Many fans know that an open-world RPG set in Japan, dubbed Assassin’s Creed Red, is in the works, with similar rumours indicating that it would debut in 2024 or 2025. Fans have requested gameplay set in Japan for quite some time.

In reality, Assassin’s Creed Red has been hinted at since AC3 by Ubisoft itself. A picture Connor finds has Egyptian, Greek, and Japanese symbols. The first of these corresponds to Assassin’s Creed Origins and the second to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Therefore, it was unexpected to see AC Valhalla, but we will soon have a game set in Japan.

According to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, players may choose between a samurai and a shinobi. Others have speculated that the female samurai protagonist shown in the official Assassin’s Creed Red teaser is accompanied by a shinobi who is an African refugee who joined the Brotherhood.

Similar to Jacob and Evie in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, it is unclear if players will have a choice between the two characters, whether they will be gender-locked, or whether both will be playable. As with Alexios and Kassandra in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, maybe a decision is presented.

If the rumors about these characters are true, it will be intriguing to see which one is picked. The samurai were fighters from the nobility, whereas the ninja was more likely to come from the commoner classes. This explains why the shinobi is likely a refugee in Japan. In this light, it is possible that the Samurai, although branded as a Hidden Blade. Is affiliated with the Templar Order (or the Order of the Ancients). And that the shinobi is in fact linked with the Brotherhood (or Hidden Ones). It’s possible that these groups are still on the same side as the franchise’s stalwarts. But they might also be rivals. It’s a mystery, however, depending on the story’s approach. The selection of a samurai and a shinobi might provide some intriguing developments.
