Asus has officially disclosed the pricing and release date for its handheld gaming console, the ROG Ally, after weeks of speculation. The console will be available in two tiers, each with its own specifications. In this news we’ll be discussing about Asus Rog Ally US and UK prices and release date.
The base model, priced at US $599.99, features an AMD Ryzen Z1 Processor, which should provide sufficient power for indie games and less demanding titles. The higher tier model, priced at US $699.99 | GB £699, comes with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor and a more powerful graphics processing unit (GPU), making it suitable for playing high-spec games and recently released blockbusters.
The higher-tier console is set to ship on June 13, 2023, while the base model will be available in the third quarter of 2023.
Although the release dates mentioned are for the United States, it is expected that the consoles will arrive in other regions, such as Australia (where the Steam Deck is not officially sold), around the same time. More information, including regional pricing, will be revealed soon.
Preorders for the Asus ROG Ally are currently open at Best Buy in the United States and Canada, while in the United Kingdom, Currys is allowing users to register their interest, although only the higher tier console appears to be listed.
Initial reviews of the console from publications like PCMag, IGN, Wired, and The Verge are already available. The reception has been mixed, with praise for its performance and convenience, but criticism regarding its battery life and the user interface of Windows. Reading these reviews will provide a better understanding of what to expect from the console upon its release.
