Diablo IV First World Boss Revealed

For three days this weekend, Blizzard is letting Diablo fans preload the open beta for Diablo IV. It takes 84 GB to preload, or 42 GB without the high-resolution texture pack.

Blizzard has unveiled the World Bosses in celebration of the open beta. According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, World Bosses include a variety of new, difficult creatures that teams of players of different classes and play styles in Diablo may take on together. Ashava, a ghastly creature with long, vicious claws extending from her wrists, is the first World Boss created by Blizzard.

Diablo IV’s senior encounter designer Candace Thomas discussed Ashava at BlizzCon 2019, so you may brush up on who she is. She said that Ashava is “like a continual reminder that Lilith is watching and nowhere is secure from the gates of Hell,” and that she may appear anywhere in the globe at any time.

Yet, “I believe that she’s sort of like a testament to what Diablo IV is as a game,” Thomas said. She’s a huge beast, but it’ll take more than you to take her down. To bring her down, people from all around the world will need to work together, since she is essentially a big killing machine.

Throughout the course of the weekend, there will be four separate spawns of Ashava. The open beta for Diablo IV will begin on Friday, March 17 at 9 a.m. Pacific Time and will run through Sunday, March 19 at 12 p.m. Pacific Time. The release date for Diablo IV is set for June 6th, 2023.\
