Maybe it was a gamble to release a highly anticipated game in early access at a price of $29.99. The gamble paid off, however, as the game sold over two million copies on its first day of release, February 23. The sheer volume of sales is indicative of the level of anticipation among gamers.

Today, there were a total of 414,257 players on Sons of the Forest. It is now the most popular game on Steam, behind Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2.
