Vanessa Kirby Addresses Sue Storm’s Fantastic Four Casting Rumor
During red-carpet interviews for Napoleon, Kirby responded to questions about whether Marvel would announce her as the next Sue Storm for the Fantastic Four reboot.
“I don’t know, you’ll have to ask them… I would be very honored to join,” she shared with Variety.
This response aligns with the typical approach actors take when addressing involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and it echoes Kirby’s previous statements. Earlier this year, she expressed, “It would be an honor,” in an interview with Comic Book.
Confirmation of her role as Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, awaits an official announcement from Marvel. Director Matt Shakman, speaking to Collider, acknowledged the anticipation surrounding the cast reveal but mentioned the difficulty in providing a specific timeline. He expressed hope that the resolution of the strikes would expedite the announcement.
“There will be an announcement at some point! I know that the internet is very exciting to find out, and I’m excited to share it. I just can’t do it yet,” he stated.
Several actors, including Paul Mescal and Joseph Quinn from Stranger Things, are rumored to be in consideration for Johnny Storm, while Adam Driver is a leading contender for Reed Richards. Jodie Comer has frequently surfaced in discussions regarding Sue Storm.
Earlier reports indicate that Storm is the movie’s lead character, with the rest of the cast being built around the actress chosen for this pivotal role.
