New Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 Announced

Bandai Namco has announced the development of a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game.

The previous installment, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, was published in 2007 for the PlayStation 2 and Wii and is the third game in the series based on the famous anime.

There was a new teaser trailer for the game that showed gameplay from past games.

While there are some fantastic graphics of the main character, Goku, morphing, the video doesn’t reveal much more.

There has been no announcement on when the game will be available for purchase or when we may expect to learn further details.

The anime-style aesthetics, 3D fighting, and epic aerial battles in the Budokai Tenkaichi games have made them famous.

Dragon Ball FighterZ, a newer video game, was published in 2018 and met with widespread praise. The role-playing game Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot came next, and although it was enjoyable, it was not as popular as the previous games in the series focused on combat.

It’s surprising to hear that a new Budokai Tenkaichi game is in the works. That it’s been 16 years since the previous one came out and that Dragon Ball Xenoverse basically stole its main gameplay. However, It’s early in development, so there are still many specifics to be released. But the inclusion of a modernized Goku in the teaser trailer suggests it’s more than a remake.

These games ushered in a new era of visual and gameplay possibilities for anime video games. Paving the way for the success of others. Equally impressive anime fighting titles like Naruto: Ninja Storm, for which Bandai Namco is presently working on a sequel.

Further information on this and the recently announced Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi game is forthcoming.
