Free Street Fighter 6 demo available on all platforms, new game features detailed

Capcom officially unveiled a free playable game demo that is accessible for many platforms, along with new features and gameplay details, at the recent Street Fighter 6 showcase hosted by Lil Wayne. In addition to allowing one-on-one or “extreme” combat with fighters Ryu and Luke, the recently published preview enables players to enter a tiny chunk of the game’s adventure-like World Tour mode.

It ought to provide a substantial preview of what’s to come as a taste of the next game. While returning players can thoroughly explore the colorful launch of the “fight anyone” World Tour Mode, new players will find a variety of battle types to try out.

Owners of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox One and PC may now download the free demo.

Capcom also revealed a number of new features for Street Fighter 6 during the demo, including dynamic combat damage, unique move sets in World Tour mode, and thorough tutorials for both beginners and seasoned players.

Announcing the first complete year of game content, it was also stated that new combatants would be released every few months through 2024. Here is the whole lineup that Capcom has revealed; take note that the seasons indicated are based in the Northern Hemisphere:

  • A.K.I. arrives in Autumn 2023
  • Rashid arrives in Summer 2023
  • Ed arrives in Winter 2024
  • Akuma arrives in Spring 2024

Although we’ll have to keep an eye on the game to find out who’s coming, more fighters are probably going to drop in the upcoming seasons of content. When these fighters land, they’ll be fully playable in the game’s arenas and will also show up in World Tour Mode as ‘collectibles’ that are hidden.

As the release date of Street Fighter 6 on June 2, 2023 approaches, we’ll discover more about the game.
