Dota 2 Star Player, Syed “SumaiL” Hassan and Evil Geniuses are engaged in a protracted legal dispute over claims of fraud and contract violation.
Legal records obtained by source, indicate that this case has been ongoing since December 2021 and is focused on SumaiL’s five-year career with EG from January 2015 to 2020, and more especially, the contract he signed with the organisation in September 2016.
According to investigation, as a result of the transaction, SumaiL’s share was changed into 265,338 units of common stock and 106,667 units of restricted common stock. The player’s legal team claims no one explained the arrangement to the then-20-year-old and that only members of Peak6 acquired the more expensive preferred shares.
Further documents reveal that in August of 2019, SumaiL renewed her contract with EG for another year at a salary of $20,000 per month with incentives. The 2019 EG team may have placed fifth at The International 9, but a month later in September, when SumaiL was placed on the inactive list, EG apparently presented him with an updated contract.
