Someone Has Put Thomas the Tank Engine Into Resident Evil 4, and It’s Horrifying

After the release of the remake, many modifications have been made to Resident Evil 4, including one that incorporates Thomas the Tank Engine.

Resident Evil 4 isn’t the scariest of the bunch, but it still has its share of frightening scenes, and someone decided to amp up the fright by incorporating the typically innocent Thomas the Tank Engine into the game. The fourth remake of the iconic Resident Evil games by Capcom has received positive reviews from both critics and fans. Many people are not surprised that the remake is succeeding so well because it was able to give the original 2005 game a more contemporary aesthetic and feel while still maintaining what made the legendary installment such a smash.

As a result of players discovering a little potential hint about it in RE4’s post-credit scene, there are already expectations for a Resident Evil 5 remake. Some people might not think that the fifth game, which is only 15 years old, calls for a modern remake, but Capcom ultimately decides what it does with its survival horror genre. The modding community has been extremely active in the interim, working on everything connected to the most recent remake.

Eurogamer recently discovered a disturbing example. Many Resident Evil 4 fans will experience nightmares because to a modification created by Nexus Mods user Crazy Potato and simply referred to as “El Thomas.” In essence, the character model for Thomas the Tank Engine takes the role of the Del Lago creature from Chapter 3. The family-friendly locomotive’s face, wheels, and chimney form the fundamental shape of the enormous fish boss in the video that demonstrates the mod in action. Also, there are some photographs on the download page that show the hybrid creature in its entirety, and, to put it mildly, they are horrific.

For some reason, fans have taken it upon themselves to alter games so that Thomas the Tank Engine appears in circumstances that the anthropomorphic blue train wouldn’t typically be in. He has even appeared in subsequent Resident Evil games and served as the model for the horror game Choo-Choo Charles. It appears that modders have a slight predilection for blending family-friendly material with ominous and upsetting video games.

To go along with that, Ashley from Resident Evil 4 was recently modified to resemble a Regenerador. As if coming into one of these monsters wasn’t terrible enough, gamers will now have one following them and have to take care of it. It will be fascinating to see what additional spooky mods are developed. It’s obvious that Capcom didn’t do a good enough job of making the RE4 version unpleasant for some players.

Resident Evil 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
