Today, in the afternoon of November 3, 2023, Fortnite is getting an update, and the game will be temporarily unavailable. Epic Games has announced that the downtime will begin at 3:00 AM Eastern Time. The servers will be taken offline 30 minutes earlier than this, at 2:30 AM Eastern Time. So, if you’re playing Battle Royale or Save The World modes and having a good time, it’s a good idea to exit the game before 2:30 AM Eastern Time.
When do Fortnite Servers Go Up?
The downtime will be quite long because it’s a big transition from Chapter 4 Season 4 to Chapter 4 Season 5 (OG). Based on previous schedules, the servers might be unavailable for about six hours, from 3:00 AM to 9:00 AM Eastern Time. But it’s important to note that this is just an estimate, not a strict deadline.

If Epic Games needs more time to make the changes, the downtime could last up to eight hours or even longer. However, given their track record of sticking to their schedules during most of Chapter 4, this is less likely to happen. Once the downtime is over, some players may still have to wait a bit before they can start playing.
According to Epic Games, the update file size will be larger than usual on certain systems. The waiting time may vary for different players depending on factors like internet speed and the order in which platforms receive the update. But since the weekend is approaching, it shouldn’t be a major issue for those who can’t play right away once the downtime is finished.
